Thank you so much for your contributions to the 2023/24 and 2024/25 Direct Drives! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to purchase 30 new laptops for students to use in class.

We are now excited to launch our Direct Donation Appeal for 2025/2026!

What Is a Direct Donation Appeal?

Each year, we launch a direct drive fundraising campaign during the first term of the school year. Direct drives are a major contributor to annual fundraising for many schools in Vancouver. They are a simple and effective way for families to support the PAC-funded programs and resources that enrich our children’s learning experience beyond what public funding provides.

Where Does PAC Funding Come From?

We rely on your support! The PAC receives some grant funding from the government, but all other money is raised through fundraising activities—including this Direct Donation Appeal.

What Is Our Fundraising Goal?

Our goal for this year’s Direct Drive is $10,000—and the more we raise, the more we can contribute to our school community!

What are the PAC’s funds Used for?

The VSB covers operational needs. Through the PAC, we enrich the school environment so students have more opportunities to learn, grow, and explore. PAC funding supports:

Technology – The PAC funds technology to ensure all students have equitable access to digital learning. Over the last two years, we funded 30 laptops for student use. While major technology upgrades are complete for now, needs will be reviewed regularly, and the school continues to rely on PAC funding for future updates.

Classroom Supplies – Each year, we provide supplemental classroom funds to teachers for enrichment materials such as art supplies and other learning resources.

Enrichment Programs – We fund in-school sports programs (e.g., football, basketball, rugby) with professional coaches, as well as dance lessons and an annual school performance. We also aim to expand programs in choir, visual arts, and both in-school and after-school sports. This year, we will also support the school in bringing multiple professional performances for all students to enjoy.

Seminars for Students and Parents – Each year, we fund body science education for students and parents. Last year, we hosted a parent seminar on online safety. This year, we hope to bring in speakers on additional important topics for families.

School Equipment – This year, we will fund the purchase of additional earthquake-readiness equipment to ensure students and parents have a more comfortable meeting space in the event of an emergency. We also help fund sports and recreational equipment so students can stay active, healthy, and engaged during the school day.

School Community Events – The PAC organizes school-wide events such as the Welcome Back Coffee, the in-school pumpkin patch, dance parties, the holiday bazaar, and the summer family carnival/picnic—bringing fun to school life and strengthening our community.

Larger Enhancements – The PAC is also exploring larger projects, such as playground improvements and outdoor education spaces.

How Are Funds Allocated?

Each year, a budget is created based on needs identified by teachers, school administrators, and parents. The draft budget is reviewed and voted on by parents at the AGM for the following school year.

How Much Should I Donate?

A contribution of $30–$50 per student (about $3–$5 per month over the school year) makes a meaningful difference.
For perspective: if every family contributes $35 per student, we will reach our goal of $10,000!

We understand that every financial situation is unique; participation is voluntary. Any amount is truly welcome and deeply appreciated.

How to Donate

Donations are accepted through School Cash Online. To donate, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to vsb.schoolcashonline.comand sign in.
    2. Press the button “Make A Donation”.
    3. Under the “Gift Information”, enter the amount.
    4. From the “Fund Destination” drop down menu, select “Queen Elizabeth Elementary PAC”.
    5. Under the header “Message to School Board”, write in the message optional box: “Direct Appeal Donation”.
    6. Click “Add to Cart” and proceed with the payment.

When to Donate

Donations are accepted year-round, but we would greatly appreciate contributions between now and the end of March.

Donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt from the VSB.
